Honkai: Star Rail has officially released its Version 2.4 update, introducing a new map in Xianzhou Luofu and multiple new characters. HoYoverse has been building anticipation for this update by teasing new content over the past few weeks. The developer previously announced that three new characters, Yunli, Jiaoqiu, and a new version of March 7th, would join the roster in this update. Now, players can finally experience the latest additions to the game.

Honkai: Star Rail's regular patch cycle brings a wealth of new content for players to enjoy. Each new version includes an updated Battle Pass with various rewards and often new login campaigns offering free gacha currency for logging in over seven days. Version 2.4 is no exception, delivering new characters, a new map, and more.

The new update launched on Wednesday, featuring a brand-new character and a new area in Xianzhou Luofu. The story in Version 2.4 returns players to Xianzhou Luofu, following the conclusion of Penacony's story in Version 2.3. This update introduces the "Shackling Prison" map, a facility where characters Xueyi and Hanya work. The update also debuts a new five-star Physical Destruction character, Yunli, along with a re-run of the popular five-star healer, Huohuo.

In addition to the initial gacha banner, Version 2.4 offers more for players. The second half of the update will introduce another new five-star character, Yaoqing's Jiaoqiu, and a re-run of the powerful Penacony support character, Sparkle. A new variant character, March 7th, will also be available, shifting her role to the DPS-focused Hunt Path. Players can unlock March 7th's new form by completing Version 2.4's story content.

HoYoverse has even more exciting updates planned. The game recently teased its first crossover with the beloved anime franchise Fate/Stay Night, set to launch in Q4 2025. While specific details about the crossover have not been confirmed, the announcement adds to the anticipation for new content.
